BOONE COUNTY – The World Health Organization (WHO) has recently raised the worldwide pandemic alert level to Phase 6 according to the Center for Disease Control in Atlanta, in response to the ongoing global spread of the novel influenza A (H1N1) virus. The Phase 6 designation indicates that a global pandemic is underway.

KIRKSVILLE, Mo. – Tracey Ann Blasingame of Belvidere, Ill., received a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics at Truman State University's graduation ceremonies May 9. She graduated cum laude with an overall grade point average between 3.5-3.74. Blasingame is the daughter of Ruth and Jimmy Blasingame and a 2005 graduate of Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy in Aurora, Ill.

BELVIDERE – In January of 2006 I was asked to review a new café opening in town called "The Brick," and I gave it thumbs up after enjoying a great lunch and service with a smile.
