Local school districts welcome students back soon

BELVIDERE DISTRICT 100

Start times for Belvidere schools are: Tuesday, July 31 – Washington Academy only, 7 a.m.; and Wednesday, Aug. 15 is the first day of school for all other Belvidere schools.

Belvidere North High School requires students to attend a Back to School Session on Thursday, Aug. 2 between the hours of 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. in the BNHS Café.

The purpose of this session is for students to complete their emergency/health forms, pay for parking permits, purchase required P.E. uniforms and turn in completed student specific paperwork (9th grade physicals). Once all required paperwork is complete students will be given their 2012-2013 schedule.

Students are asked to follow the schedule listed below, however, if you are not able to attend during the prescribed time, you can attend during a time that works with your schedule.

Students last name A-D 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

Students last name E-K 1 p.m.-3 p.m.

Students last name L-Q 3 p.m.-5 p.m.

Students last name R-Z 6 p.m.-8 p.m.

If a student is unable to attend the Back to School Session on August 2, schedules may be picked up from 9 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday, August 7 or Thursday, August 9.

Belvidere High School will hold a Freshman and New Student Orientation on Monday, Aug. 6 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center.

Thursday, July 26 – Class of 2014 Schedule Pick up at BHS, 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Thursday, July 26 – Fall Sports Parent/Athlete Meeting-Freshman & New Students Only 6 to 6:30 p.m., Performing Arts Center. Incoming Freshman and New Students required to attend this meeting. Code of Conduct and athletic policies will be presented.

Thursday, July 26 – Fall Sport Athlete Registration, 7 to 9 p.m., Performing Arts Center

Thursday, July 26 – Fall Sport Parent/Athlete Sport Specific Meetings from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. In various classrooms. Coaches will present individual sport rules, practice schedules, expectations and requirements.

Monday, July 30 – Class of 2015 Schedule Pick-up, 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Thursday, Aug. 2 – Class of 2016 Schedule Pick-up, 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

 

NORTH BOONE DISTRICT 200

North Boone schools begin Monday, Aug. 20.

Registration for the 2012-2013 School Year will be held on July 26 and Wednesday, Aug. 1 from 1 to 8 p.m. at North Boone High School Commons. Registering after the Aug. 1 deadline will result in a $50 fine per family.

All students new and returning must register either day. Returning students have requested classes but this does not register them.

Parents please bring two of the following documents as proof of residency:

• Most recent real estate tax bill

• Mortgage Papers

• Signed and dated lease and proof of last month’s payment

• In lieu of lease, a notarized letter of residence from landlord

• Current Public Aid card

• Current primary home/apt. insurance certificate, issued within 90 days

• Current, gas, electric, or water bill (telephone/cell phone bills not accepted) If two utility bills are used, they must be from two different utilities issued within the last 30 days.
